9800pro vs. 9700pro

I just ordered a 9800pro 256 ddr2 and afterwords came to toms to find that in his tests he was only getting 25fps on nature 3dmark03??? With my oc'ed 9700pro Im getting 38-42fps, hopefully I didnt just take a step back by blowing $500 samckers on this new card??? Anyone have any overclocking results as of yet??? And....is the memory controller chip onboard the same as well as the voltage reg chip??? In other words will the modifications needed for oc'ing this bad boy be the same?

why you order 9800Pro if you already have 9700Pro??? it does not worth it..

because Im hoping it is more overclockable...I figure that if my 9700pro is able to run 452/361 with a pelt then what would be the outcome of throwing a prometeia on the 9800pro? The prommie on my cpu cools a good 5 inch radius outside my cpu so Im thinking that fitting one to the 9800 will maybe cool the memory controller too and hopefully I can hit 500/500. Have to sell one of my systems before I can get another prommie though... )-;

What about the FX5900? I thought that brought the performace lead bace to NVIDIA - why didnt u spring for that?

nah, everything Ive read about the fx5900 is not nearly as good as an overclocked 9700pro....actually I just recieved my 9800pro and what I hadnt thought about was that since it uses DDRII they had to change the memory controller a little. Which figures cause it will be a while before you can find any info on volt modding the ddr on this card. Thats okay though cause Ive already done a base bench and hit 18k, then I oc'ed it to the max it would handle with stock cooling and brought that up to 19,909. Which is where Im at fully stable with my 9700pro volt modded and pelted. So I figure when all is said and done then I should be right around 22k....those figures above were slighly low on my cpu overclock cause I wanted to be sure if the card was going to give me any problems. Anyway....Im sitting here debating whether or not to be the first fool to fry one of these while figuring out how to vmod the vddq and vdim or If I should do the vcore and wait for more info.....could be an expensive screw up

Check the forums of <A HREF="http://www.xtremesystems.org" target="_new">http://www.xtremesystems.org</A> frequently or go there to ask help on Vmodding... they're often one if the first that figure out how to succesfully mod a card.
