i posted a few times, but didnt get the answer i wanted...
i want to know if i can clock a barton 2500+ from 1833mhz to 2000mhz by adding 1 to the multiplier (from 166*11 to 166*12) i wont touch fsb.....i just want my barton to perform like a stock 2600+.... but with double the cache...
is this minor OC possible with stock cooler? (btw i dont want to touch voltage either) ive read around...... some people say u can... others say u cant... i get no where.... so i decided to ask for myself.....anyone here had experience in wat i want to do?

thx

Well the reason some ppl say you cant and others say you cant is cuz every ship is different. The only way for you to know if YOUR chip can do it is to well, DO it. Im fairly sure it'll work - also read up at www.hardocp.com they have a 2500+ overclocking article under the reviews section i think. Youll find helpful.

Athlon XP 2500+ @ 2225MHz (12.5x178 @1.850v), Volcano 7 w/Smart Fan2, A7N8X Standard Rev. 1.06, Kingston HyperX PC3000 512MB @177MHz, Radeon 9700Pro, SB Live 5.1

It will work... but it is not sure if you're cooling is enough or you need to up the VCore. As said every CPU is different... they're by no way indentical so you can only make very rough estimates.

My CPU fan spins so fast that it creates a wormhole
