I just bought the AMD XP 2500 and I want to overclock it, but i'm not sure how or what settings to change. Could someone please tell me how to do that?

Also, I have prime95 but I have never overclocked before and don't know exactly what i'm supposed to do to test the stability of my computer. Can someone please help me?

It helps if u provide useful details such as ur mobo, RAM (PC2700 or PC3200), power supply etc.

A newbie-overclock wud be just increasing the FSB. Increase the FSB from the default value of 166, in steps of 4. Boot into WIndows, run Prime 95 for sometime. Shud u get any errors, revert back to the previous setting where Prime95 ran 5 (assuming u get errors in Prime95 after 4 or 5 times u have increased the FSB in steps of 4).

If u want to keep the higher setting, then raise the Vcore by about .1V.

IF ur mobo supports multiplier changing, then play around with different settings. (CPU Clock in MHz = CPU Multiplier * FSB in MHz)
