If a person enables Win XP built in firewall, Norton Antivirus and runs home
network through a Linksys NAT router will this provide a good shield from
trojans, viruses and the like?

Thanks,

As long as you don't open any holes (forwarding) in the routers and keep
ALL Windows XP updates and your NAV LiveUpdate current you should be
very secure, at lease until you start clicking on virus filled
attachments. You should also download and run SpyBot Search and Destroy
from http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download

If you enable the built in XP firewall and try and run a home network,
it is my understanding you will hit issues with your network.

YMMV, but i leave mine off, and as yet on my home network running NOD32
anti-virus, Sygate Firewall into a Draytek 2600 router, i have no
issues.
