September 14, 2005 - Nintendo of America has announced that the company will
publish Final Fantasy IV for the Game Boy Advance / Game Boy Micro this
holiday season.
Final Fantasy IV is the Japanese name for what was released in the US as
Final Fantasy II, the first Super NES version of Square's immensely popular
RPG series. Though the game's main design -- including 18 towns and castles,
dozens of spells and hundreds of monsters -- remains intact in the move from
SNES to GBA, additional game elements unique to the handheld version have
been added to the production.
Nintendo released the original Final Fantasy and the Japanese Final Fantasy
II on the GBA in the US as Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls in 2004.
Nintendo of America will release Final Fantasy IV for the GBA on December
12th.
