Asus P4G8X +200MHz FSB?

i have read conflicting articles on the FSB adjustment of the Asus P4G8X. some say it will only go to 200Mhz, while some claim 400Mhz is the topout. anyone out there know the truth? here is a link to a review that claims 400MHz:

It’s true my P4G8X is able to reach the 400 but I don't manage to make it work with a P4-2.8-800 at 200. Some other guys have the same problem but not Tom’s …….

200Mhz FSB is max for p4g8x.

Uppdate your BIOS to 1006g and you will be able to choose 400MHz.

The P4G8X-Deluxe/GD-UAY, has one step increases to 400Mhz CPU External Frequency, however the standard P4G8X only has one step increases to 200Mhz CPU External Frequency.

This is baring any later Bios updates that may enable the standard P4G8X to increase its range to 400Mhz CPU External Frequency.

That should clear it up for ya.

Hi,

I'm one of those with problems. I have a p4g8x deluxe, a 2,4GHz FSB 800 and dual ddr pc3200 ram. As soon as I pass 180 MHz REAL FSB, I get varying error messages like "NTFS32.SYS not found" or other files that are needed for start up XP. When I go to 200 MHz clock speed, I do not even get post. I used bios setup like in tom's article, same bios, latest bios, and really tried a lot, but I can't get past 180 MHz.

Can anybody help?
