Make crysis run smoother?

hello. i have an amd a8 3870k quad core with a radeon hd 6670 1 gb ddr3 and 4 gigs of ram, now in theory this system should be able to run crysis extremely smooth, on medium its alright but high isn't too playable. is there a major reason to this and is there anyway to fix this?

Crysis is a still considered a very demanding game despite it's age. The Radeon HD 6670 is a good budget oriented graphics card. However, I think you are simply asking too much from it.

The easiest thing to do is to replace it with a more powerful graphics card. Or you can lower the resolution. See following review of current generation $90 - $150 graphic cards for benchmarks of the Radeon HD 6670 which generally use the highest settings or "ultra".

Note that the benchmarks includes graphic cards that are far more expensive than $150. The GTX 690 is probably around $800+

ok, at 1080p on medium it runs pretty darn smooth, can you recommend me card between 100 and 200 that will play crysis, bf3 and other demanding games good along with my a8 apu?

You should look through the benchmarks in the link I provided. But I generally recommend the Radeon HD 7850 which should be selling for under $200.

Your theory is more than a little off the card: "with a radeon hd 6670"

- x600 series cards are lower mid range cards, for low to medium settings.
- High will gain you nothing of use on this card.
- I had a laptop with that card a few years ago, and it's alright for low/medium and older non-taxing titles.
