I used to use a Gigabyte ga7v8xp-a motherboard, and with my Barton 2500+ multiplier can be pushed to 17*, but I got a new Asus A7n8x nForce2 and the best I could push the multiplier is 12.5*. I'm just curious, does Gigabyte use some kind of technology to unlock the multipliers? I also made sure the multipliers were true using wcpuid. Anybody else noticed this?

Svol if you read this, I just got back from my trip to Toronto, so I'll send you a private message on that Core stepping thing you wanted a while ago.

It could be that the Gigabyte board uses a 5 bit multiplier overwriting thingy... I've seen it on resent Abit boards too.

My CPU fan spins so fast that it creates a wormhole

Sertain boards use some kind of BIOS future to overwrite the Athlons XP T-bred/Bartons multiplier setting when it boots up and therefore allows you to use all multipliers.

I'm 100% sure the Abit NF7-S board has this future, dunno about your board though.

I love my Delta 60HP 7000 RPM fan that puts out more dB then CFM
