is it safe to overclock 2500+ barton with stock cooler?
i'm currently 34 idle, 40 load? what should my temp limit be?

ALWAYS AIM LOW SO YOU CAN'T BE DISSAPOINTED

I prefer a temp limit of 55C. 60C is a little more realistic as a limit, but I'm a bit fussy since I've seen so many systems loose stability at 60C.

Sth really weird, my system is still stable at around 70C..
it's summer time, when it's full loaded, it goes around 70C, usually is 55C at idle temperature..

I prefer to give a cpu a temp limit depending on the voltage its running on. For example; stock voltage (1.6v 2100xp) max temp should be about 65C. 1.75 volts should be about 60C. 1.8 volts should be about 55C and 1.9 volts should be as low as possible, about 45-50C max for long term use.

If your overclocking on stock voltage you have a better temp window to work with. Raising the voltage makes the cpu work harder and the temp window is therefore lowered somewhat. Thats why really high voltage overclockers use water or phase cooling. Or like me you stick a duct out the window and stick the other end on the cpu and keep your 1.9v 2.3ghz cpu running at max 50C heh.

Doesn't matter much (although it is better for administration) as most OC posters visit all the OC forums.

I love my Delta 60HP 7000 RPM fan that puts out more dB then CFM
