Question about my new 9500 np project

I just got myself a Saphire 9500 np ATI card from newegg. It is the original PCB with the L shaped RAM. I am going to be reformating the system tonight and trying this baby out. I plan to attempt the driver hack and see if it will do all 8 pipelines. In researching this card, I found one or two sites that mentionned the Saphire cards did not have the BIOS lock on OCing like the other ATI cards. From what I have read, I thought all the 9500 cards had the BIOS locked and required a BIOS flash for OCing. Is it true that the Saphire card is not locked from the factory?

I don't know if the card has the BIOS clock lock, but there's nothing there to prevent you from trying the soft 9700 mod.
