Anybody really think this will be that great?

I think it's got LOTS of potential, but whether it lives up to it's
'astounding graphics', and 'incredible storyline' is another thing!

Screen shots I've seen admittedly look sweet, but that doesn't make a game.

Final Fantasy X-2 has provided an adequate level of entertainment, but I
couldn't help feeling it was a 'recycled' edition of 'X'.

Opinions....?

I think Square needs to focus 100% of it's game development efforts on more
FFX games and more games involving Rikku and Yuna. The GOOD Yuna, from X2
not lame priestess Yuna in X1. Maybe some sort of puzzle game too with
little SD characters.

From what I have read FFXII will be very different from any FF before,
The graphics will be on par with X-2 maybe a little better, as for
astounding graphics FF games always have but thats limited by the
system.
All being said it will be better than X-2 if it's not Square will have
serious problems!
AS for "recycled" edition of X, I don't think you could be more wrong,
everything was different apart from the world and some characters also
X-2 was DIRE (IMO) and lasted less than 30 hours in my PS2 whereas X
was Mint and spent 130 hours there.
The best thing that could happen to XII would be a good storyline,
such as that in FFVII, A Junctioning system and magic system such as
FFVIII and plenty of ubor bosses like Emerald and ruby weapons, the
dark aeons etc, And please no auto kills like zanmato, but bring back
Odin and his random entry.
From a FF I want a gripping twisted story line, with GOOD subquests
and plenty of bosses, X-2 was none of these, It was a piss poor effort
to get younger players and female players.
