Wireless 360 controller and windows 8 uknown device

Hello,
I did a clean install of win8 64 pro. Runs great. The only problem is I cat get this wireless controller to work. It worked fine in win7. I went into device manager and tried to load the driver from from xbox 360 peripherals, but the data is said to be invalid.![:ange:]( ":ange:")
I have the charge and play kit. both the controller and receiver show as unknown device in the DM. Hep' me yall. ![:cry:]( ":cry:")
