Overclocking and async mem

I have a P4 2.4GHz 800MHz FSB Hyperthreading on an ASUS P4P800 Mobo (BIOS revision 1008). I am running 2x256MB Samsung PC3200 DDR Dual Channel sticks of ram. I want to modestly overclock the system.

I upped the FSB in the BIOS from 200 to 225, thus a clock speed of 2.7GHz 900FSB with this system. However, my ram will not go above 400MHz x2 = 800MHz. Is it worth running the ram async for the extra .2GHz?

BTW I am really new to all this overclocking stuff, if someone knows a really easy/ safe way to OC this system a bit .... let me know.

Thanks

More about overclocking async
  1. try relaxing the timmings and/or increasing Vdimm...also overclock in smaller incraments...you are taking it too fast...the memory probably could run at 420mhz or even 430mhz.

There is no smell better than fried silicon
