Ok so I was ocing and got to about 2365mhz with 1.85 vcore? Now is this too high (my temps are 47-50 C while running prime 95) of a vcore. I do not want to fry the chip under any circumstances so what do you guys think is a relatively "safe" vcore for my cpu (and please don't say stock vcore of 1.65)? Can I push it any higher since the temps are relatively alright or is there a limit to vcore regardless of temps?

thanks in advance.

 If it aint broke, overclock it.

1.85v is average overclocking voltage for a 2500 and most tbred b's too. Keep it below 1.9 volts to be safe and running it at 1.9v should be safe but may shorten the life of the cpu a bit. I can take my 1700 to 2376 @ 1.85 volts, about the same as your barton, but being a tbred with smaller die size it runs upto 56C load.

thats a pretty nice overclock. Scottchen has taken his Barton 2500+ to more than 2600MHz. what mobo do u use?

Be careful as ASUS mobos over-volt the Vcore by about .5V from what u have set.

Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.

Yeah I got Asus A7n8x I set it at 1.775 but it's actually 1.82 according to motherboard monitor.

I hate Computers! I could only overclock my Barton 2500+ to 2645mhz. My Radeon 9700pro core/mem speed won't go above 410/720. I really hate computers!

yeah, with the Vcore set to 1.65V on my A7V8X the BIOS and MBM5 both read out the Vcore as 1.71V.

That is because Asus likes to overvolt the CPUs at default to make their boards look more stable.

I love my Delta 60HP 7000 RPM fan that puts out more dB then CFM

thot so, then i read it somewhere in the forum that Asus indeed overvolts by about 0.5V.
