The slk800/900 are too heavy to work well with the clip-on mounting method. You're going to want to use a mobo that has mounting holes.

According to reviews the SLK-900 provides only slightly better cooling than the SLK-800. If you're going to use the 900 on an Asus mobo, be sure to check the ThermalRight Web site to make sure that it will fit without having to bend some of the mobo capacitors over to make extra room for it.

I would go with a board that allows you to use mounting holes to secure the heatsink. That way theres no clip to shield the hottest part of the heatsink from your fan.

I would recommend the A7n8X with SLK800U because I personally got the Asus board with Swiftech MCX462+(tornado fan of course) and got the FSB all the way up to 230 using only PC2700 ram. From what I've heard MCX462+ and SLK800 is about the same, so with a crystal orb on the A7n8X north bridge you should be able to get the 230FSB.

I hate Computers! I could only overclock my Barton 2500+ to 2645mhz. My Radeon 9800pro core/mem speed won't go above 475/750. I really hate computers!
