SLK900U on a A7N8X

I am wondering if anyone has done this... Has anyone fit an SLK900U onto their A7N8X? From everything I've read, it sounds like you have to bend some of the capacitors near the CPU socket to make it fit. Even Thermalright's website states that it requires "severe bending" of the capacitors. I'm just curious as to how severe is "severe"? I've searched the boards and it seems that most people just decided on a new heatsink rather than risk damage to their board. Has anyone given it a shot?

P.S, I'm interested in this cooler, but depending on what you all say, I might end up getting the SLK800U instead.

I've also been interested in those two coolers for the past week or so. Everything I've read says that there's only about a 1 degree (C) difference in cooling between the 800 and 900 models, so you should go with the 800 instead of severely bending capacitors on the A7N8X motherboard.

Because I like the idea of using a lower speed 92mm fan on the 900, rather than a higher speed 80mm fan on the 800, I'm going to wait to see if Thermalright develops a new 900 with a slighly different underside curve that won't interfere with any mobo's capacitors.

I'm using the slk800u on A7N8X 2.0 , it barely fits , was almost touch the capisitors , to be safe I ground a little copper away from the side a give it more clearance ( approx 10mm ) I wouldn't go slk900 with this board.
I'm not comforfable "bending" parts on a $100+ board , just for a couple degrees cooler
the slk800u is terrific , barton 2500 @ 11x200 1.7vCore
TT smart fan II on low speed (2700rpm)
it quiet and cool , 35c idle , 41-43c load. in 28c room

Thanks guys.

Bob, good point. If it's only a couple of degrees, why risk it?

Randy, I was looking at the same fan (Smart Fan II). Have you tried it on high speed? (~4800RPM) If so, what are your temps? I'm looking to get the same CPU as yours and OC, so I'm curious. Thanks.

Anyone else with experience with the above setup?
