insert the XP CD, and go through the install process. If you have SATA drives you need the drivers for the controller.

It's a full REINSTALL as you can't downgrade from Win 7 to Win XP so make sure you BACKUP your data before doing the install.....

that's true by why,,, do you want to do that.?
it's not even supported anymore.
you'd be better off upgrading your system and run windows 7 pro or ultimate because they come with XP mode.
or upgrade system and run VMware..

I would suggest trying the virtual XP mode that's offered in windows 7.

Another option, is to set up a dual boot system.

With either of these options, you won't lose the windows 7 license that you paid for. You can use it when you want/need (maybe it'll grow on you). As mentioned, the support for most versions of XP has ended. XP's days are coming to an end.

I agree, you are far better to run Windows 7 than XP because it's not supported anymore and Win 7 runs a lot better than Windows XP. I've been using Win 7 for over 2 years now and all the software, games and programs I used in Windows XP have worked fine in Windows 7. It even works with Windows 7 64 bit as well.

XP SP3 still has support until 2014.

And most benchmarks have the performance as being very similar.
