Water Reservoir placement

Just a quick question, when putting together a water cooled system and putting in a reservoir should it be at the highest part of the system? or should the water level just be higher than the highest part of the system? or what do you guys recommend?

It does not matter where to reservoir is placed. As long as the rest of the system is airtight.

though you will get more pressure (i.e. higher flow rate) if the reservoir is higher up.. gravity can help

Ah, but if the reservoir is higer up then the pump will have to work harder to get the water up to that point, canceling out any benefit you might get from that configuration.

If you want to get higher flow rates from reservoir placement, then put in such a place where tube length could be kept to a minimum.

Mine's on my desk. Serves no useful purpose being there, it just looks cool.

I use my radiator as a footrest. Makes a nice foot warmer in the winter time.

damn, my rad does' get hot enough to use as a foot-warmer (unless the fan is off lol)

the system is easier to fill if it's at the top, that's the only advantage. for bleeding it makes no difference
my res is at the bottom because it fits best there
