I have oc'd my 2500 barton to 2166 mhz. It is 42c at idle and after running 3d mark 2001se and 2003 it was running at 48c. I am new to all this and I don't want to fry the chip. I have a volcano 10+. Should I push for more or should I stay? I am at 13*166.

thanks guys

Ouch, 5900ultra that's bad. Anyways, A7V8X-X you should be able to push the FSB to 180, because higer FSB gives you better performance than multipliwer. Try to get 180x12.5 first then push the vcore up and try to get 13 multiplier.

if you want to push more out of your cpu, try underclocking first you video card and overclock your cpu.

48*C underload will never fry your CPU, the temp limit of 2500+ is 85*C. But as a personal preference anything below 60*C and stable are fine for overclock. That's with normal aircool system like yours (Volcano 10+ is not a premium cooling HSF)

Me fail English? That's Unpossible!

oh yeah A7V8X VIA KT400 chipset, that's gotta suck, yeah u have to downclock ur video first before you increase the FSB, or you'll get artifacts.

LOL thats strange. Very strange indeed.... So it auto overclocks the clock frequencies or the agp bus?

Yeah it increases as your FSB goes up.
