Well my overclocking (on this current system anyway) is about over, as I have maxed the cpu out at 2405mhz (unless I go water cooling, which I won't), I have the memory at the tightest timings on the highest fsb possible. I have the 9700pro running faster than a 9800pro with good cooling, but my motherboard is only @ 200mhz fsb.

So my question is, after days of debating in my head and unable to decide myself (injured leg last week so I've had a lot of time to ponder such things). Should I sell my twinmos 3200 and go for kingston 3500 and aim for 218mhz fsb?

As for the performance increase, heres some benches I did at 208mhz (isnt stable but runs 3dmark2001) to give me an idea.

Current 3dmark at 200fsb = 18,310.
3dmark at 208fsb = 18,450
Predicted score at 218mhz = 18,600.

Does this increase seem worth £80 and an extra 2-3fps in games to max out my current rig or should I just spend it on games to enjoy what I have?

One minute I'm at the online store and placing my order, the next I'm thinking what a waste of money. Any help would be appreciated!

Speed you probably know by now HyperX series sucks at going for frequency here's a 3500 roundup Mushkin seems to overclock the best, HyperX overclocks ok at tight timings but bad with loose timing compare to Corsair or Mushkin. Geil performs the worst. So If i were you I'd get 2x256 Corsair TwinX, Mushkin costs too much, and Hyperx doesn't get you much more than stock speed.

Yeah but don't forget I'm looking for 216-218fsb so I dont need to overclock the memory. Although the tighter timings would be nice.....

No wait a minute. I forgot I downloaded the latest bios, so I can use the 10.5 multi. So it looks like I may have to go corsair. But that means upto 228mhz is achievable with my cpu (10.5x228=2395) as I'm currently at 200x12 = 2405mhz...

Hmm if its stable at over 225mhz, thats pretty damn close to 19k. If only I can find a second hand 9800pro to reach over 20k....

LOL, speed i'm happy with what i have now I think you should be too. I clocked my 9800pro at 450/370, I don't want to push my hardware to there max because don't want to reduce lifespan too much. My CPU's clocked at 275x12 which is exactly 3300mhz. Only now I have syncronized memory. So I broke the 23k barrier. Now I got 8 Tweakmonster standard ramsinks on it which has massive surface area. I'm still trying to make up my mind of what cooling I should use, right now I'm just using the Vantec Iceberq 4. Trying to make up my mind between Spark5 or Volcano 10 because those are the lightest cooling i could find from where i'm buying.
