Anyone have high speed internet via sattelite throught bell Canada? If you do, how fast is it compared to cable or dsl?

If you play games DO NOT GET SATELITE. Pings for satelite are 500ms minimum to 1000ms average. These are way too slow for gaming.

Also any big storm that interferes with your TV satelite reception will also interfere with your Internet connection.

Speeds are comparable to same speed DSL or cable connection. Meaning if you get 256dn/128up dsl and the same for satelite the download times will be similar. BUT the initial request for information could take up to 1 second longer. This is way too long of a ping time for games. Games will appear very sluggish and a lot of the time you will be booted for too high of a ping.

If you only surf the internet and check email then this is a possible alternative if nothing else is available.
