Weird cod 4 problem :S

When I play cod 4, everything runs smoot for the first 2-5 minutes. But suddenly I start having some lag, where I cannot move properly, cannot duck, cannot prone. Then that continues for a good 10-20 seconds and I lose my audio and have to restart my computer to make the audio work.

Note: it is not only the game audio that disappears, it is with everything.


Does anyone know how to fix this :S?

Forgot to add: the windows sound adjust thing always crashes too when I try to use it.
