What do you think of this setup

I am looking to get the following items:
P4 2.6ghz 800fsb
Asus P4P800 dlx
OCZ Copper PC4000 2x256mb
2 raptor harddrives.
I all ready have all the other things from my old computer.
Do you think I will be able to hit 3.5ghz with this setup. I do have a water cooled case. So I feel that I should hit 3.5ghz without trying, since I see people hitting 3.2 on base voltage and stock hsf.

LOL read my post, i have almost the exact same setup except for your crazy harddrives. But you'll need good cooling, the SLK900U or SP94 or watercool.

I have your harddrive right now, but I want the faster stuff. I already do have a water setup. I just can't get my 2.26 past 2.8 which sucks.

Ouch don't worry the 2.6C would do 3.4 without any problem at all. 3.5G probably, anything higher requires luck.

Do you think that a 2.8 will go higher, or that 3.5 or so is the highest that P4 will go. I might Just buy the 2.8 If I am able to get 4ghz.
Just to let you know, your the reason why I am getting this setup. The number you get are great I hope that I am able to get just is high as you or better, since I have a watercooled system. The only thing is the mb, I am still thinking about getting the msi mb. I don't know if the csa lan that it comes with will help, by not taking as much bandwidth for the pci. But no one has said anything to help me with this. Oh well. Do you know if the 533mhz ram is any better then the 500mhz, it looks to me as if they change the timing so that it can handle higher clock speeds.

I will let you know next week, on how my ocing is going.

LOL, if you got money get the Abit IC7 Max3, it uses the i875p chipset, and offers great voltage settings, also known to hit 315FSB or more. MSI makes some horrible OC motherboards, 2.8C will get you higher with Syncronized FSB. So if money isn't a concern, then 2.8C would be a great deal on a watercooled setup, The new OCZ's 4200EL's a weird memory it runs at insane frequency and at insane timings 2.5-4-4-8!! If you could get that then it'll probably overclock much better at loose timings. If I was rich this would've been my setup, the 2.8C with that ABIT mobo and insane memory may get you 4000mhz+ with syncronized FSB. With enough voltage the OCZ PC4000 copper hit 293mhz, so i imagine the new PC4200 EL could do 290mhz with a decent 3.0Vdimm. 290x14 that would get you 4060mhz. THAT'S INSANE. If you're lucky enough you might get 4060mhz.

Umm, yes I would call MSI crap, because they they always struggle at 275FSB. While Asus, Epox, and Abit struggle at 310FSB+. Well i guess MSI isn't crap compared to the Aopen or Albatron motherboards.

I'll have the IC7 max3 if i could kill my P4P800 without making it too messy.

I preordered the OCZ PC4200EL 2x256 Copper Dual channel memory from anitec(the retailer where i pick up my stuff), they said it'll probably take 2-4 weeks before they'll have it in stock.

Hey scottchen,
is the abit ic7 max 3 really good, cause I don't see how it is any better then the P4P800 dlx.

More Voltage settings, in terms of FSB overclocking they're about equal. But the IC7 max3 allows 3.3Vdimm and I NEED THAT.

Anything over 3v will kill memory over time, no matter how cool its running...

Well OCZ's warrenty covers up to 3.0vdimm so nothing to worry about.

someday the memory might need 3.3vdimm to run at default speed.
