I have a motherboard, graphics card, memory, cd rom, floppy, and network card. All I need is less than 150 to build a computer with the following specs:
Athlon XP 2000
Abit KG7 motherboard
Voodoo3 3000 Graphics card
512mb pc2100 ram
Sony cd rw drive
40gb harddrive
I have more than enough computers, but to buld a new one for 150, is it worth it?

Well ok, maybe I don't save! lol
But I have a decent car and a soon-to-have laptop. I'm pretty good at paying things off...never ever missed a car payment and I'm sure I wont miss a laptop payment, it's just saving that I'm no good at. lol
PooBaa's purchases have been just as bad as me this year, but he earns 100 x more than me so maybe my purchases should be 100 x less than his! lol
You'd have thought given his earnings he'd have treated you to the laptop. Miserable bugger. Withold labour, that'll change his mind!

This is what my deal was to get my laptop. (Dell latitude c400)
- 6 weeks of summer school (4 hours of geometry in morning, half hour lunch, 4 hours of biology)
- Graduation
- Birthday
- Have to clean my room (2 garbage bags and 5 hours)
- Still have to pay for half of it. [sad]
As for summer school... I skipped a grade for math and still did terrible at bio.
Svol, I doubt i could get much for a K2 300 and a Pentium 2 450mhz computer. I bought a Radeon 9500pro to replace my voodoo, since it still works, might as well put it into good use.
That's what I did with my first PC. I upgraded the CPU and was about to sell the old one when a tech friend of mine got a job out of country and gave me some spare parts that he had hanging around. He gave me a case, mobo, PSU, sound card and a truely ancient vid card. At the end of it all I needed was RAM, CD-ROM and a hard drive to build a new computer. So I built it and sold it with enough of a profit to make my computer upgrade free. I got a new hard drive, a new CPU and new RAM and swapped my old stuff into the "for sale" 'puter.
