I have a Verizon LG VX6100. I've got a USB data cable, and BitPim
running on OS X Tiger. Where can I download a driver for the data
cable?

Do some googling for LG phone and Macintosh. You may find something that
will work.
i.e.

The page above is for the LG 4400, but often this type of stuff works across
phone models.

Wouldn't this be what you need:
http://www.cell-phone-accessories. [...] river.html

It does not state whether it is for Windows or MAC so I'm not very sure
so you may want to call them first to make sure it is what you need.

I'll update the help text for the next release. Anyway you don't need any
drivers if you have a straight USB cable. If you have a USB to serial cable,
return it and get straight USB.

If you don't know which cable type you have, plug in just the cable without
the phone on the end and see if your computer thinks a new device has been
added. If it does then you have a USB to serial cable.

How do I know whether the computer thinks a new device has been added?

Call up the people who supplied your computer and/or operating
system.
