My current mobo is a ASUS A7V333 latest bios running.
Seems to not like running anything over 149Mhz on the bus. What do you guys think the max this cpu can be OC'd? According to AMD's site standard running speed is 1466mhz. Currently oc'd at 1583mhz. Just testing the cpu. System won't boot if I set the bus over 149Mhz and hangs. Manual says I should have multiples from 5 to 14, but I only get to 12.5. No idea why.

Depends on which stepping you have on the 1700. I had one that went up to 245mhz FSB before I toasted it from a cooler's fan cut out on me, wat do i care it was free.

The max 1700+ overclock I've seen is 2310MHz with 220MHz FSB, and of course, on nForce2. (You'll never achieve this on VIA platform)

Me fail English? That's Unpossible!
