I read a review that said it was significantly better. However, the review was linked from AS's website...so take it with due caution.

Huh? it magically spreads evenly itself?

WOW, then how hard do i push it? with 300 pounds of pressure? so i could crack the surface of the CPU or GPU? Man AS's getting drunk. That's not really an advantage, i like using a credit card and spread it evenly.

I got a tube of that stuff, LOWERED My IDLE TEMP by 1C, under full load lowered by about 2-3C, so it's not really worthy of an "upgrade" over AS3, and there is virtually no difference between AS5 and Ceramique. Well that's from my experience there could be a margin of error in MBM5 but as long as i could tell, these thermal grease are really nice, so buy whatever's cheaper.

The number four is considered by some asian cutures to be the "number of death". Kind of like 13 in the western culture. It would be like us buying Arctic Silver 666. Usually, asian marketing companies will skip the 4 in a progession of products.

I heard somewhere that Artic Silver would void the warranty of an AMD CPU because of the silver in it - Because Ceramique uses ceramics instead of silver does it void the AMD warranty? How about this Artic Silver 5 – does it void the warranty too? Or is someone pulling my leg?

AS3 voids warrenty? Oh that's something new to me, because when I RMA my 1.3 Duron, I used AS3, they didn't care they just sent me a 1700+ because 1.3 was discontinued.

I thought I read it somewhere that it did. Something about there being a very small chance that AS3 will conduct electricity. But now I can't find where I read that and I couldn't find anything on the AMD page either - I guess I'm wrong in that regards.

you are sorta right, with amd cpus you are not supposed to in any way change the way the cpu is cooled. Meaning that technically by throwing a slk 900 tornado fan and AS 5 on a cpu you would void the warantee. However i think they are very leniant as long as the box that you return the cpu in contains the boxed cooler.

Speaking of AS5 and Ceramique, has anyone seen the comparisons between those and taht new Nanotherm Phase Changing Material one? I hear the PCM works really well but can ruin some heat sinks. Anyone else know about this or seen any comparisons?
