Yes although I would get an aftermarket 7950 if you were getting one or they are hot and loud.

Also thats not a good PSU and will probably blow since you'd be close to it's rated limit and would exceed if you oc'ed.

You might not max far cry.

Definitely not the AMD version. The asus DCUII is very good and I think the DD is okay too.

Get a good brand PSU for enermax, corsair, seasonic etc

Antec are also good for PSUs, if you have not bought anything yet the 6 Core AMD CPUs are around the worst value for gaming I suggest you go Intel.

Ok Cheers for the help would this be ok then?

Don't get a boost series. Get the double d you mentioned and oc it. That corsair PSU is good
January 2, 2013 11:38:46 AM

Sorry I just checked and the 6300 is not as bad as I thought but an i3 3220 will give similar gaming performance a bit cheaper

Would you say it would be worth getting the double d black edition over the standard double d sorry but i'm very new to this. thanks for the help.

No problem. We are here to help.

The black edition is literally just a 100mhz overclock that you could easily do yourself. It's not worth it.

Ok thanks so much for the help. so the xfx hd 7950 dd is the best option would you recomend buying from scan or novatech? which is more reliable? Also would you say an SSD is worth the money im not sure whether to get the 120GB KINGSTON V+200 SSD and getting an HDD later or just getting a 1TB WD caviar black WD1002FAEX, Sata 6g/s 64mb cache 7200rpm? Thanks again :)
January 2, 2013 4:18:04 PM

ssd is worth hugely as OS drive but not so much for games.

Novatech is great. Always fast and reliable

As the others have said, the reference AMD cards are annoying. I have the reference 7870 and it is ridiculously loud because I have to crank the fan up or it gets really hot. It sounds like a jet engine.

Do I need branded CPU cooler for gaming? Also, Is it possible to have your OS installed onto an HDD then at a later buy an SSD and then move it over? Thanks
January 2, 2013 5:10:15 PM

You can image your OS and then install the image onto the SSD but it will move everything.

The Fx series does run very hot so something like a hyper 212evo is reccommended. Also you should overclock that cpu to get the best from it
January 2, 2013 5:17:07 PM

I'm getting the graphics card from Novatech and the PC from PCSpecialist so the choice is quire limited for the CPUs would the "Super Quiet 22dBA Cooler" be fine?
