On August 12, 2003 an article was released here at THG that talked about overclocking a system to a 1GHz FSB with DDR500. For the setup, they used a Soyo 94I875P Dragon 2 motherboard. Yet on July 7, 2003 an article was released comparing 24 motherboards.

As you can see, the Soyo is at the bottom for FSB overclocking, while the MSI Neo2 is at the top. Why then was the Soyo used for the 1GHz FSB overclocked machine??

If you see something in a motherboard review here that doesn't make sense, go to Anandtech and read their reviews. And vice versa. Between these two sites you should be able to figure it out.

This site had the unusual problem of getting Abit boards to perform well, while other sites have found them to be near the top! So it helps to have multiple sources, you never know when someone might get bad samples or simply make a mistake.

Best boards are probably Abit, Asus, and Gigabyte, for 865 and 875 chipsets. Don't get roped into paying big bucks for features you don't need, there are different versions of each model at different prices.
