Well I have tried everything that I know and I am unable to get passed 250fsb. I believe that the northbridge is keeping me back. My cpu temps are still low(30c) and I am able to run turbo and mam at 250, so I don't think that my memory is the reason. Since I was unable to get 3.5g with this board, I just order the abit IC7 max 3. I am hoping the reason why I could not go higher is because of the northbridge and I hope that the IC7 max 3 will fix that.

that P4P800 was just an unlucky board, their average overclock is 290FSB so, The IC7 Max3 is an EXPENSIVE board, but it probably will hit 310FSB. 3.5G might be the limit on your CPU. i know some C Northwoods can't get past 3.3G

I don't think that it has an option to increase the voltage of the chipset.
The ram that I am using is ocz pc 4000, I know it is not the ram that is holding me down cause I can run cl 2.5-4-4-7 on mam mode and I have turbo on.

I don't believe that it is the cpu cause it is not even getting warm. Even playing warcraft 3 for 4 hours, the cpu only gets 30c, and I am sure that this cpu can handle more.

From what I have read in the past few days, Most sites say that the IC7-g is a great overclocker reaching 270-290fsb.If the IC7-g can get that high, then the max 3 should hit it easier(cause of the cooling for the compasitors) and I only need to hit 270fsb to get my 3.5g that I want anything else is just gravey.

SJJM, try the epox i don't know the exact name their 875p mobo, there's an option to turn up the Vchipset from 1.5 to 1.8, it says it's VAGP but it actually is Vchipset.

Well I am hoping that the IC7 will do the trick. I will be getting tomorrow afternoon.

I just dled the manual for the EPoX EP-4PCA3+ and it says the vagp is for the agp.

I've read that somewhere though i think it was pcstats i'm not sure, they said epox messed it up when increasing VAGP to 1.8 their max FSB increased by 25.

It comes down to my cpu. I can not go any higher, unless I put the vcore way up. I was able to get 260fsb, but I had to set the vcore to 1.8(which is 1.75 on the abit). Why can't these companies just have the voltage the same as what I set it at. I guess I will have to settle for 250fsb or I will have to buy a new cpu that hopefully can handle higher clock speeds.

I have a 2.6c made in Malaysia. I will just have to wait a few months to get a better chip.

The voltage is stable, it is just that they are not correctly labled. On the asus board if you put the voltage to 1.5 it is really 1.6 and on the abit board if you put it put it on 1.725 it is really 1.68. One thing that I fined weird is that at stock speed and voltage my cpu runs just fine at 1.465, but as soon as I overclock the cpu needs a lot more voltage to run. With an overclock of 250fsb my cpu needs 1.65 volts to run stable. I will just have to wait until after Dec. to get a better cpu(2.8c). Then I should hit 3.5g.If I can't then I am going to push my computer out the window.

Nothing is wrong with my 2.6c, it just does not overclock all that well. I was hoping to hit 3.5g not 3.2g. Maybe the a64 will be a better system to build next.

I have played around with my psu's hi-pot, no harm in doing it as long as you know what to look for and don't touch anything on the AC side of the powersupply.

About changing the vregulators and capacitors...ummm who does that? That would be quite a bit of work.

That is not the problem that I am having. I was able to boot with my memory voltage at 3.0 volts. I was also able to boot at 260fsb with 1:1, but it took the vcore to be at 1.8 volts to do it. I am just unlucky on the chip that I bought.
I also have an asus p4p800 which could not go pass 255fsb, so this leads me to believe that my cpu just can't hang.

P4 2.6c at 3.25, Abit IC7-G Max3, OCZ pc 4000, 2X raptors in a raid, and ATI 9700 pro 390/324.

Man you got a CPU that's being a b*tch, oh well you'll be getting a new 1 soon, the current speed you're at is REALLY NICE. BTW what cooling you got again?

For little quick speed runs 1.8v won't do much harm its just long term usage that would kill the cpu.
