I am tryin to use a K6-2 550 processor on it but it is only registering at 300. FSB is at 83 and multiplier is 2.3 volt as per processor. Any help is welcome.

2.3v isn't a multiplier, it's a voltage. Set the multiplier at 2x, if the BIOS reports it at the "wrong" speed recheck using WCPUID. Some BIOS can't report higher speeds than are listed in it's table.

It could also be that you've used the 1.5x setting, which is the same as the 3.5x setting, and that would give you nearly 300MHz. Here's the conversions:

1.5x=3.5x, used mostly by Intel for the Pentium 233MMX, adopted by AMD for the K6-233

2x=6x, only on high speed K6-2's such as the 366, 400, etc. Probably implemented by AMD to allow easier production of overdrive CPU's such as those by Evergreen Technologies.

so use the 2x setting, if you have it right it will run at 6x, regardless of what BIOS says.
