I have a Asus A7V266VM motherboard used it since 2002 Augest, I have install a Audigy and Geforce 4 MX onto it, but when I play 3D games like MAFIA, Max payne 2 etc.. the entire system crashes and requires restart, this occurs competely randomly! it could be 1 hour or 1min!
Also, during start up my Sony DVD rom is often not detected! and when i try to change cds in windows the system freezes!
I have updated my bios to the lastest version, using windows XP and a 250Watt power supply....would this effect the system?
Welcome holliswhy!
1. This section of the forum is for advice for overclocking mobos. So you should prolly repost elsewhere in the hardware section, cuz this ain't about OCing your mobo
2. That's a pretty weak graphics card and newer games like MP2 are gonna make it gag unless everything (resolution, refresh rate, details)in game options is set really low.
3. That power supply is on the low side and that can cause instability issues too.
4. Is DX9 installed (I think MP2 has some DX9 code (but not sure?)
5. Have you installed newer drivers for the MX card or still using the original ones? The older drivers with newer games could also cause instability.
