Ok just ran my computer system with Prime95 completely stable for 14 hours under it's stress test option at 37C (under load) now I want to start cranking my cpus speed up. so what do I need to set my ram timings at before I start slowly cranking up my FSB and what should I want to keep my ram settings at once I have gotten the speed I want or reached the processor's limit? I already read the overclocking guide on here, but I want to make sure it is accurate for my system, I'm running a P4 2.8 ghz 800 FSB with PC 3500 ram (in case it matters it's Geil PC 3500 ram and supposed to be a matching set).

I Want to overclock it to 3.4 Ghz, please give your recommendations and instructions :D

Read the post like I said yes I did read the guide. What I'm mainly wondering is what timings should I be going for with my ram that will probably happen with my desire to overclock it to 3.4 ghz? or do you feel that can't happen with PC 3500 ram and my 2.8 Ghz processor?

I mean what would you say is the proper balance for optimal performance with both cpu overclock and ram timings.

Geil's memory's been known to have problems at relaxed timings, try using the manufacture specified, and go as high as you could with FSB. you'll probably be able to reach about 225FSB that'll get you 14x225=3150mhz. If you're not happy with that then you'll have to start using 5:4 Dram Ratio. So generally stay with manufacture specified timings.

Accually I was able to take my computer to 240 FSB without taking my Vcore to 1.75, but I think it was at 1.7250 or maybe 1.7 Vcore, I didn't try to take it any higher because it's a brand new computer and I figgure I have plently of time for it to start becomming out of date and then overclocking it when it gets close to being out of date. (maybe I'll buy new ram and better cooling at that time)

But I do have a question what is the CPU dram ratio mean? and you said with my Geil memory I should just let the timings auto config? or should I try to get them to a certain timings for optimal computer performance? (btw I did accually try to boot with relaxed timings compared to what my bios auto sets and you are right My Ram does not like to be relaxed)

P.S. Scottchen in your overclocking guide you say that pc3700 is FSB of 233, I think that PC3500 is FSB 233 not PC3700 I could be wrong though.
