I realize there are many many overclock posts for the Athlon XP 2500+, but i am new to overclocking, and was looking for direct answers to a few questions. I want to build a new system with all the cheap stuff i got on black friday :) Now what i was planning on getting was a XP 2800+, but after researching it a bit, i noticed that an overclocked 2500+ is way faster than that. Not to mention cheaper. What i plan on getting right now is a DFI Lan Party mobo with the nVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 + MCP chipset off NewEgg.com. I was also planning on getting 2 256mb sticks of Geil PC3200 ram, and a Cooler Master Aero 7 Lite heatsink/fan. Now my questions are.. 1) Is it possible to achieve stable XP 3000+ speeds with the overclocked 2500+ and that heatsink/fan? 2) what are the odds the 2500 i buy off of Newegg.com will be able to be overclocked? (i read on several posts that the newer barton processors are locked) and 3) If 1 and 2 are possible, and anyone else has this mobo, what would be the settings i would use in the BIOS? I'm not very interested in OCing the Geil ram, just mainly the processor, but if it must be OCed as well, then how would i go about doing that? This would be my first attempt at overclocking, but since i'm on a budget and can't afford a 3200+ or anything like that, i figure its worth the risk to get the cheap 2500 and OC it since most people have had good results so far. Anyway, thanks for the help!

Buy the 2600+ it's multipliers are still unlocked. Change FSB(Front side Bus) to 200 then you'll have a 3400+
