Ok, so my eyes almost bled, but it's fun to do every once in a while.

Yesterday I went and saw
1. Finding Nemo
2. The Hulk
3. Matrix Reloaded.

All of them for the first time.

1. Finding Nemo - Good flick, really enjoyed it. Enjoyed it, to my shock, the most of all three movies. I recommend seeing it on a large digital screen with good sound. Pixar kicks as$.

2. The Hulk - BORING! My god, I wanted the Hulk to break stuff not bore me to death. The Hulk breaking stuff scenes were cool, but the rest bored me. The end sucked. I also could not become attached to that CG character. I thought the shadows and the way he really did resemble the Aussie guy was neat, but it wasn't even in the same league as Gollum or even Yoda.

3. Matrix reloaded - Um...I guess it was cool. I enjoyed it. A little too much yapping though. I think I'll have to see it again to figure out what they were smoking. It felt like they really changed the story line from the original. I'll watch it again and see what I think.

Anyways, nobody wants to read my in depth reviews, and that's not the point of this thread really. I guess I was just so surprised that movies nowadays seem to break records even when they aren't that great. The Hulk has no business being number one in the theaters. Is this because ticket prices have risen or are these movies actually attracting more people than great movies like Star Wars?

I'm just shocked. I almost wanted to take a nap during the Hulk. The begining of the Matrix was also major crap and the end was just a lot of mumbo jumbo that I need to see again to grasp. Complete nonesense that these movies break records. It seems that every movie released is breaking a record and I almost feel like it's marketing bullshit.

Summer blockbusters are usually crap. Thank God Sylvester Stallone's name hasn't been heard in a few years.

Last year when they ran the trailer for The Hulk before Spiderman I told my friend who was sitting next to me that The Hulk was gonna be huge (no pun intended). But when the commercials came out for The Hulk on TV I was really turned off. The Hulk looks like a cartoon. He looks like Jar Jar Binks only less believable. I'm sick of all the computer generated crap in live action movies. It was fresh in Jurassic Park but now it just reminds me of stop-motion photography like the old Sinbad movies. When you were a kid it was cool, now it's just goofy.

Okay, brain. You don't like me, and I don't like you, but let's get through this thing and then I can continue killing you with beer. -- Homer Simpson.

Jar Jar put the Hulk to shame. And that was years ago.

I watched Matrix reloaded yesterday and i agree the first 30-45 minutes is total crap, I found myself closing my eyes and just listening to the yap yap. IT became interesting only after the the meeting with the oracle and Smith. I'm a sucker for sound effect and every bang and boom made by grin grow wider and wider :D. Esp the last scene were a ship comes to recue the nevacanezer(however it is spelled) crue. IT felt like an earthquake. And well Here's my opinon on whats going to happen..a bit late but aah i need to share my opinions.
First i have some doubts as to whether the architect really want zion destroyed everytime. He tells neo about the 6 times the matrix has been reloaded. Well if he wanted zion to end then why reload the matrix??? Since neo always chose trinity....The first time he chose that door zion must've been ended. Well whats the point in reloading it? I dont get it. Maybe he want him to chose the right door.

I remember someone saying that maybe the zion is also another matrix since neo acquires powers there too in the end. Well remember when a smith clone cut his ands and shook neo hands? I believe smith has infected neo with something..which gives him power to control the machines(squids) So this 6th time that the matrix is reloaded, Everything doesnt end after the chooses trinity. Smith either has helped neo Unintentionally or intentionally maybe working for someone else. (higher) yes beleive there is more to this thantjust humans and machines. Okey here's my belated two cents on the movie.
Hulk Well they showed the trailer and i'm not too impressed really. It's al animation. I would've liked hulk to be more a realistic muscle man,not some big goon who can obvioulsy kick everyoone's ass. Well but maybe i'm wrong i dunno. I havent read any hulk comics..
Terminator 3 trailer was awesome too. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I must admit, I have absolutely no desire to see the The Hulk (not out over here yet), as it just looks too cartoon-ish. CG stuff is just getting shite now. So you've clarified what I was thinking.

And I was very disappointed with the Matrix Reloaded. Seemed a film so very pleased with itself, so self important, as opposed to the first one, which concentrated on being a kick ass film that truly re-wrote the rule book. Reloaded has taken the glitz off the first one for me, and I was even bored by the fight scenes, too long. Laurence Fishburn looked like he'd been eating too many hamburgers while inside the Matrix too.

T3 I suspect will surprise everyone, as it's almost slipped in without all the hype of the Hulk, Matrix, X-Men 2 etc. Apart from that, one film I'm really looking forward to is Kill Bill. Saw the trailer for that when I went to see Identity (cool film BTW) and that just looks amazing. Tarantino, when on top form, is a true master. No one matches him for dialogue.

The thing about the Hulk is that it's directed by Ang Lee. I really really think Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is one of the most beautiful and awesome movies I've ever seen, and I own the DVD, but with the Hulk it was just....boring.

As for the Matrix, the original was amazing. I bought my DVD player just for the Matrix. Of course I wasn't expecting the sequel to be better. But it was boring in the begining, and I even missed the first 20 minutes of it since I snuck in so I probably got lucky and didn't miss anything. There were 3 people in the theater and they gave me the rundown on what had happened and it didn't sound like much. The first fight seen before the Oracle was boring too, but after that I thought it was entertaining. I just got a bit turned off by all the changes and crazy twists and the stupid duplicating Smith thing. I guess I'll have to see it again to figure things out. One thing I'm happy about though is that Revolutions will be out soon so that we don't have to wait too long.

On a side note, I'm watching The New Guy and for a hokey film it's pretty funny so far.

Enjoy.

Yeah but Max Payne came out after Matrix, so you can't say it's off Max Payne at all. Matrix created that trend, so if there was any legal accusation, the Wachowski brothers would win, not Take Two or whoever did Max Payne.

When that scene began, I drooled and saw my jaw for the first time ever, open without my consent!

It depends on the person really. While yeah I wasn't overly moved by the first 30 minutes, it does carry the storyline. Remember that MR is a bridge to the last of the serie.
But the architect scene was fun IMO, hearing all those freakishly advanced words by the architect, ROFL.
Did anyone see the MTV Movie Awards 2003? Big spoof off MR, and the architect, the fake one, started using all these words in one sentence to show off and show how weird that scene was! I laughed so hard...

The freeway scene was much coooler :p. It was the best action scene i've ever seen. Ducatis Cadillacs, One great scene ended only to be followed immidiately by another great action scene esp the two trucks colliding. Damn that shook me off my seat. I bet silverpig would've noticed the monster behind the 996 that trinity takes.

I would much rather have spent the money from buying camping gear at a cabin or motel.

I LOVE camping. I really LOVE camping.
But my wife goes because the kids like it also and it's a cheap vacation.

If you like bear camping is cool cause that's one of the major activities. No, not for me. I pull i small aluminum boat and 15 hp Yamaha outboard and set it up on the shore just in front of my campsite so anytime the girls or i fell like taking it out we just get our things and off we go onto the reservoir . Baskaton, a good size one were their are pike and walleye and lots of virgin iles to investigate.

The last time we came upond fresh bears tracts on the side of one small island but nevr did see the bear itself. There are some real prestine sandy beaches out there where no ones stops and we then are like on our own private beach for the day with a picnick.

With camping you have to get into a different frame of thinking and then enjoy the more natural and down to earth pleasures of life. I enjoy getting up real early and making coffee and just sitting in the kitchen tent and listening to the forest and beach sounds all around. The crows, the chipmonk the wind etc. Then making the fire. After supper making the fire is like a ceremony.

Tell your wife i'll go with her...lol

Taking a crap in the woods is great. I like to find a steep hill to do it on and listen to it roll down the hill, rustling through the leaves. Gotta make sure you find a tree to hold onto while you're doing it, of course. Don't wanna be rolling down the hill, yourself.
