FPS Drops In Games

In all games i try to play i have bad fps drops. Will be around 60 fps and go to 10. This happens the same in Planetside 2, Apb , and even minecraft. I have replaced my power supply with a corsair gs700 to be sure theres enough power and nothing. I have made sure BIOS is up to date and checked all drivers.

Specs:
Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit
8.00 GB DDR3 ram
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T ~2.8 Ghz 6 cores
Sapphire Radeon 6850 graphics

  2. Hi :)

You graphics card is getting a little old now, a 7 series card would improve things drastically...

    All the best Brett :)
  3. I tried running planetside while watching the temp. Cpu got to 57C and Gpu got to 59C. And i actually just got the graphics card a few days ago.

A 6850 is fine for most of today's games. I can run BF3 just fine at 1080p High settings with my 6870 (only slightly better)
You NEED to not listen to this guy.
  6. I got the 6850 because my friend can run planetside 2 max settings with it and ive never seen anyone unhappy with one. Also it happens on minecraft which i highly doubt would have to do with the graphics.

    Hi :)

I didn't say it wouldn't run his games, I said a better card would run them better...

I haven't sold a 6 series card in my shops for at least a year, to a gamer...

    All the best Brett :)
  8. Found the Problem it was heat. Cant afford water cooling atm but opened case and left fans running higher and running bf3 max settings with no fps problems. thanks simon for the advice on the program. :)
