Farycry 2 FRAPS recording ON makes fps BETTER? whats going on

For soem reason im gettinga pretty astound 40 fps average with intel graphics hd with 720p with everything on high and shadws low. when im recording now i take recording off it averages out 33 and goes down to as low as 22 this may sound great that fraps makes it run better but its not its very annoying becuase i dont want to have to record to play this game. can someone explain this one (or atleast try to)
