This f*cking piece of sh*t won't go beyone 252FSB, anything above windows won't boot, i didn't want to go beyone 1.7 because Asus overvolts. I'm really pissed, i'm probably just going to try break it again and try to get another CPU from Intel.

Can we please have this post removed from the board? Not only does it have offensive language, but the poster obviously intends to commit an unlawful and unethical act by scamming the manufacturer, and I don't think that should be encouraged.

Also Crashman when did you buy your CPU? Do you think Intel did something to their new 2.6C so they don't overclock as well?

I shouldn't really be complaining, since I was the one who said don't complaint about how much overclock you get, gaining is gaining. But it's just that I had a higher frequency before, and it's taken away from me, and having something taken away from you is a painful thing.
I may just sell my CPU, since I work for a computer store, i'll just tell them it's brand new, and they'll sell it with a system.

I think you might be onto something with the newer 2.6c's scott. My first 2.6c (besides looking like it was run through the mill) couldn't get past 245 FSB before I RMA'd it. (for the obvious physical flaws Doom, not the performance. I sent photos to Intel and they said they'd replace it if the retailer didn't). When I got my new 2.6c, I noticed it was from an earlier batch and it's made it to 260 FSB with no problem. Could go further. Both from Malaysia.

No, I don't. I was just reacting to your post because I thought it was bit flame-y.

How can you tell which batch the CPU is from?

I bought mine about a month ago, at 3250 it crashes whenever my vCore drops below 1.63v. I can't keep vCore above 1.63v, so I have it clocked to 3.18GHz.

I'll see if any of my "friends" has any good 2.6C, see if they want to trade.

Chances are you got back in a M0 core and you sent back a D1 core.

The M0 take more volts and more cooling to reach the old overclocks. But they will reach it.

But they don't carry those in stock, they only carry 2000+, 1300mhz duron, 2500+, 2.66Ghz, 2.4C. That's it they only order 2.6c if somebody requested for it. If i switch it'll probably be a new 1 anyways.

My god man, getting 250 clock speeds is pretty damn good, with 1ghz fsb. Should feel lucky to go that far. You could up the voltage but make sure you got good collant. I got a P4 2.6ghzC chip to go 276 clock with 1.75 volts and that with the thermalright SP94 and a enermax 92mm fan running at 56.2cfm with litte noise.

I'm thinking of pushing 1.8Vcore, I rebuilt my computer so it's just lying on my table, now it'll ventilate much better.

I'll go search around for an older 2.6C, but how could you tell?

Or put a box fan next to your case. Ive done that a few times, especially during the summer times...

I love box fans...almost a perfect fit for my case too. Too bad I really don't need one, I just keep it there so everyone thinks my computer is hardcore OCed. (but it does keep my processor really f-ing cold, like 7-8C lower than without)

Damn Rambus.

When you guys say box fan do you mean just your regular ol' summer fan that happens to be in a box (rather than on a pedastal with the blade surrounded by a circular metal cage)? If so, I'm in luck since I've got a nice big one sitting right next to me. Heck, I could use the portable A/C ...

When you guys put boxfans next to your cases, do you place them facing the intake or angled beside the exhaust to help blow it away. Or something else?
