Well... in reguards to your article about the accusations of Nvidia cheating on 3dmark, here is my humble opinion.
When i am looking into purchasing hardware i come here to Toms Hardware. And i usually find the hardware i am looking into. And there is quite a bit of comparison testing done on it and similar products. Since THG has become a standard name in the computer buisness, i think the ideal situation is to have you do thourough testing on these video cards and continually change the tests you run. That way if these card manufacturers try to optomize for the tests, they will have to optomize for a broad range of tests which will greatly help us consumers. Plus we get the unbiased truth about the hardware. So please keep up the great work :?) If we could only get enough people to use this as a guide for purchasing the hardware we will all be better off.

It scares me to think someone can find this abyss of a place amidst the second to top link to the graphics forum on the forum list page.

Btw, Thomas Pabst is officially posting in our forums, in fact he PMed me about a forum alliance to help THG try to fight this cheating issue.
Tom is currently only posting in the GFX forum.

Well, the response i wrote was in reguards to hardware manufacturers in general. I was just using Nvidia as an example. Another example would be MSI chaeting the benchmarks with " Dynamic Overclocking "
So being in general, i thought it would belong in the Other category. If you didn't like the post then ignore it. No need to whine about it.

WTF am I the only person that thinks DOT is brilliant? If I post one more thing in favor of MSI's DOT, I think I should start expecting a paycheck from them!!

DOT is NOT cheating. However it IS overclocking. But it can be disabled, and is only enabled by default when you choose "load performance defaults". If you want to point fingers, point them at THG for including the DOT results in their mobo comparison!

But honestly, I can't blame them for including the results. DOT is in fact brilliant. It only overclocks the system when overclocking would be beneficial, i.e. when you are playing games, or, for that matter, when you are running benchmarking software. Either way you are going to be putting a high load on the CPU, which would cause DOT to kick in and speed up the system. And in <b>either</b> case, whether you are running games or benchmarks, you would see a performance increase. Therefore, it is NOT cheating. Cheating would be speeding up the system only when benchmarking software is being run.

I was just wondering, Which version of the nVidia drivers had all these cheats? Are those the 44.03 ones? I Downloaded them last night and installed them today. In Unreal II, all the textures went completely bland.I'd see nothing but simple dark patches instead of the normal textures. The FPS also increased. When i went back to the 43.45, everything was normal again. Is it the drivers or something else?

thanks for the reminder again@! i forgot when i got home this past morning (at work again) because i had crashed my bike and got bad road rash on my elbows and knees
