Just got my new rig all hooed up.
Abit IS7-E (yea yea i dont care about firewire/raid no IS7 for me)
2x256 mb Geil Golden Dragon PC3500
P4 2.6C

I installed Windows XP, and went to windows update and got everything except Media Player 9.

But now my USB ports on the back are not working. I tried with both my MS Intellimouse and my Flash Card reader. Neither one does anything.

Inside System-Device Manager there is 1 thing with a ? beside it, it is "SM Bus Controller" what is that and could it be the culprit in my USB not working?

I know someone here can help me out! Thanks!!!!

Most likely the driver isn't installed for it.
The mobo gave you a disk , look for the driver on it.. if not search for it through the mobo's site.

Sound like the mobo drivers are not installed. The mobo CD should have them, otherwise look at your chipset site for the latest version.

Got the USB thing fixxed it was n00b error :)

But now im kinda concerned about my cpu temps.

At idle its showing 40C, and I ran Prime95 error free for 8 hours while MBM5 checked temps every 5 seconds. High temp was 59C, Average was 56C. I'm not overclocked at all so that seems kinda high to me.

Crashman told me as long as the system is running stable not to worry about it, that its probably being mis-reported.

Is there any way to get the actual Temp or should I just listen to Crash and stop being paranoid about it.
