ok so its not in bios, compaq pcs dont have the option of doing things like changing CV and all that. i know i can do it manually thru the mobo with jumpers, but how and where?

Hm. I couldn't find any info on that board. Sorry. Anyway, Im not sure, but I think its unusual to have jumpers for the core voltage. The last time I saw that was on ancient 486 mobos. Also, if scombaq didn't include the feature in the BIOS, why would they bother put a jumper on the mobo?
Have you tried inspecting the mobo. Is there any text close to the jumpers?

many athlon and piii mobos had jumpers...

if compaq is still cheep they may have them to this day...


If it isn't a P6 then it isn't a procesor
