Hey,

I just bought the Thermalright Acoustifan 92x92
my barton 2500xp running at normal speed gets to about 43 - 46c. I know the fan is a low speed low noise, but when i touch the base its no were near 40 degress id guess its only about 25 - 30...

i know sub 50c issnt bad, but i was hoping for a bit more.. i use Artic silver 5 paste, and i only apply a very thin layer, i tried to use the plastic bag with the finger to put some on the base bottom, but its so damn hard to spread out, so i mostly scrabed it all off again..

so is this just because of the fan, or is it just what to expect?
the reason i wanted it to cool more was to OC it to a 3200xp (have pc3500 geil gd ram) so it should be possible..

/Kim

You MIGHT have scraped off too much paste, and also, is that temp from the cpu diode? or beneath the cpu on teh mobo?

those numbers are from both bios, mbm5 and i also tried the asus probe..

i just clocked my 2500xp to run at 3200xp now it runns at 55 durring tests..

im gonna try and clean the cpu and base, and then apply a new layer of paste, and maybe not be as greedy with it heh

dude let me tell you one thing - what do you expect out of a low-noise solution.. those are ok temps for that.. if you wanna lower your temps increase some case ventilation - what you got now ?

and now for something completely different
