what background programs should I disable prior to running 3dMark 2001 ? I have an ASUS A7N8X deluxe MoBo with 1 gig of Dual Channel 3200 DDR ram, a 2700 XP chip, A 9600XT video card and all I seem to get is around the 12000 3d Marks ? latest drivers, latest BIOS. It just seems to me that I should be getting something a little better than that. For Aquamark 3 my score is just over 29000 in default settings.

Dissable all background tasks for a higher score. Every running process takes up CPU time and/or memory bandwidth.
