Okay I don't know how many of you have this problem but here it is. I boot up my PC at 2.4@3.65 with no prob. No crashes in windows, problem is it runs like a 486 once it gets into the windows GUI. So I go to 3.62 and it no longer runs slow.

My temp is currently 85far under load.
2.4C@3.65 (303FSB)
IC7Max3
10k WD36.7 HD
2x1024 3500 lvl II Mushkin
Win Corporate Ed
1.7volts going to CPU, 2.9 to Mem, 1.6 to 9800 Pro

NEED HELP. I can even boot at 3.7+ but I run in windows at speeds around a 486 would. It like lags loading and everything takes forever to refresh.

my guess is your cpu temp is WAY too high and the cpu is doing an overheat clockdown...

are you sure your temps arn't 85c?

No I know my waterblock water is at 42c. Mainly, because I have it hanging outside my colorado dorm window and we all know its freezing outside in CO. My CPU is at normal temps.

Ok maybe it's just me, but on my old Asus board, when i flashed to the latest bios, and when i overclock too high, it rests my multiplier to 3x. Do you think that could happen on your Abit mobo?

NEED NEW SYSTEM!

If that were the case, how would I change the multiplier on a 2.4C anyways. Its locked at 12x. I mean this sucks, I'm not limited by my cooling, cpu, or mobo, but it feels like my OS is limiting me.

Only thing I can think of is to get rid of this 10k WD raptor SATA drive and try ATA133.

BS

Normally at my max overclocks...such as those where i can get into windows but only for like 5 minutes until a lockup...the comp feels slugish...i can only atribute that to possibly the processor spitting out so many errors and basically screwing everything up, causing processes to fail etc.

Is the comp prime95 stable at these "slugish" speeds.

I would recommend turning up the voltage, but you're already running 1.7V....maybe try a bit higher since you're using a watercooled system.

Or you could be having RAM errors....are you running any sort of FSB:MEM divider (you better be at 303FSB!)?
