Well, i just recently ordered my new 9800Pro256mb(i know 256 doesn't yield better performance in current games, but it might add a few precent increase performance in some upcoming games and helps with AA). Since it is an Asus card it has an overclocker with it, but i've herd rumers and seen articles that say you can use XT driver or BIOS to mod it to and XT since it is virtually the same thing. Is there any truth to this??

OverKill is not defined by the power you use, but by the power you have to spare....

I'm not completely sure, but I don't think there's any difference between the 2 bios, except maybe the Voltage on the ram of the 9800XT is probably higher, since it's DDR1 memory, so it's probably around 2.9V, and DDR2 memory on the 9800pro 256mb, is probably at around 1.8v, so I wouldn't recommend flashing your bios.

NEED NEW SYSTEM!
