I have two sticks of corsair XMS 3200 ram (512m) I tried to overclock them for better performance, but i cant seem to get anything stable over 206 mhz??? This doesnt seem right. I ran timings of 2.5-3-3-6 and 3-3-3-9 but still cant get it right. volts were at 2.8 and had the fsb @ 206x11. Any suggestions/setups to OC for 17k+ 3d2001?
I ran 3d2001 a few months ago w/ 1 stick of XMS and scored 16483 with my cpu @ 2.3 ghz, 400 fsb and radeon @ 325/310. I forget my timings =(

My specs:

XP 2500+ (water cooled)
Radeon 9700 N/P (water cooled)
(2)XMS 512m DDR 3200
A7N8X-DX
Antec 550w P/S

Thanks in advance for any help!

May I ask how you determined that the ram is causing the instability at FSB 206? Is it failing Memtest86?

Since it's rated for FSB 200, one would think the additional vdimm would allow for an extra +6 of FSB

The ram is rated for 200. Anything higher is an act of god and should not be trusted anyways unless you like your registry hosed. Mushkin and OCZ have good showsouts for overclocking the ram. Have you tried 3-4-4-8 timmings?

No i haven't tried 3-4-4-8 yet. Should i run this ram out of 1:1 sync to achieve a higher fsb? Would that give me extra performance even though its not 1:1?

Depends on how far your systen will go.

My XMS PC3500 maxes out at 216fsb. But if I run it at 5/4 ratio my fsb maxes out at 270fsb,bringing my ram back up to arround 216fsb,But my processor is running 3.5gig instead of 2.8gig.

This makes a really big difference. Even though I would get better performance if I could run my memory in sync.

I aint signing nothing!!!

If you mean 1:1 = 200:200 then yes that will give you better performance.
