VGA silencer is easy to install, but you'll probalby want to lap the base, as it tends to still have rough machining marks on it.

How much you can oc it depends on the individual card of course, but one good indicator will be when you remove stock HSF, and clean out thermal crap, to check the core. Current ones from Newegg seem to have the newer R360(XT) core. Older ones, as sadly, mine is, have the R350(9800 Pro) core. Even the R350 though should be able to go up to XT speeds(412/365).

Several different links for ramsinks if you search threads on www.rage3d.com in their forums, don't remember any of the top of my head. Might wanna check threads there, so you can find ones that you can be sure will fit under the VGA silencer(or just sand them down if need be, which is what I would do if need arose, but not everyone wants to do that)

If you do have the r360 core you should be able to get up to 445/790 just soft moding with a volt mod you could get up to 500/800.Thats based on what xbitlab did. here the url http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/sapphire-9800xt_13.html

Even with the R350 can get it up to XT speeds most likely, though of course every card is different. Mine does 422/365 with no artifacting, as tested by ATITool, and I can actually go higher before there's artifacting visible to my eyes in regular game usage.

I havent reached the nessesity to vmod the radeon 9800 lines yet but will do just that mabe later. Done it with my radeon 8500 and got 336 on its core but now it is resting in my hall of the burnt to a crisp. My 9500 pro I also done and got 432 on its core, its the l-shape pcb. I really dont think it would be worth v-mod my 9800 for I would definately have to peilter that beouch up and that requires work..

I didnt use a guide on my 9500pro, just did it via exploratory and luck. Do a google search on the subject and should get many now these days. Just make sure you properly cool the core or you will get persistent snow issues.
