Try to run game get message "this is a windows NT executable"

Got the Pc game Entomorph from the mid 1990's. loaded fine but when i try to run the game in dos....I get the message "this is a windows NT executable". Anyone know what this means and what i can do to run the game????

This is a windows 98 computer just to run old games

Makes sense. Several .exe's from that era use Windows exclusive functions that make then unable to run in DOS.

Win98 is NOT based on the NT core. Win NT,2000,xp and so on are.

As said above, you may be able to run it in dos.

You can use DOSbox to run many old games on newer hardware.

runs on PC(DOS), windows 3.1 and mac a pretty old game. I assume it is old 16 bit DOS code. The exe header has a field that indicates the OS the file is for. if you are running this under a emulator they most likely generalized the error. WinNT had a DOS and OS/2 subsystem and would support .exe linked for them.

I am not sure it will be worth the effort to run the game.

DOSBOX will NOT run any game compiled against the Windows OS, which this one apparently is.
