In the past few weeks, I've started to receive some strange text messages. By
strange, I mean they do not have a callback number or sender, making it
impossible to tell who they came from or respond.

I would think they were spam, but the messages themselves are not advertising
anything. The most recent being something like "R u at the prty?" or "Where R
U?"

Is this some Verizon marketing gimmick or is the system just burping?

I saw these also, turned out to be chat invites due to registration at
SMS.AC.

See my prior post on it as these messages were $0.25 each.

Thanks - I read your other posts about SMS AC, but I don't think that applies
here. I've not had anything to with them and I don't know anyone who does.

It's just people who don't have predictive text messaging or people
who just don't know how to spell.
