I'm a newbie and have been reading up before OCing my system. Am I correct in understanding that PC3200 or above RAM with Low Latency settings will need to be set to about 3-4-4-8 at higher FSB? What about PC4000 with LL? I am told I need high quality mem to OC. What about standard PC4000. If it is sold as PC4000 I assume it passes all frequeny tests and if the standard tests are all rated for the relaxed timings used to OC wouldn't say Patriot, Buffalo, KVR, Corsair Value, Etc... perform equally to the higher priced mem?
I am not a gamer so if I lose a few bench points for timings but can increase drastically by FSB increase that will be fine. I do a lot of A/V encodes and D/Ling .
Please give me input as to which direction I need to go to get more performance
